The Fifth International Web Caching and Content Delivery Workshop was held at the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC) in Lisbon, Portugal from 22-24 May 2000. The Workshop was held in parallel to the TERENA Networking Conference. The Workshop followed the example of the earlier successful workshops, for example the 4th Workshop, which took place in San Diego, California from 31 March to 2 April 1999.
The sixth workshop will take place in 2001 in Boston, USA.


The Workshop has been organized by TERENA, the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association, and was hosted by FCCN, the National Foundation for Scientific Computing, which is responsible for the Portuguese national research and education network RCTS.
